Alice Waters’ ‘Beautiful, Radical’ Approach to Running a Restaurant—And More | Watch Now

“I’ve never had a day when I didn’t love being at Chez.”

We were so incredibly lucky to welcome legendary chef Alice Waters to the Godmothers main stage, where she was joined by the always charming Flamingo Estate founder Richard Christiansen.

Their delightful conversation—which included lots of laughter and a few tears—was part of the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience, an annual celebration of all things food and drink in Santa Barbara County. Over the course of an hour, the pair spoke about Alice’s youth, her hitchhiking adventures, her past as a cheerleader (!), and so, so much more. We’re overjoyed to share their conversation with our subscribers. (The video starts around the 11-minute mark.) We hope you love it as much as we did!
